Engine Repair Services We Offer
Oil Changes
Regular oil changes provide a snapshot of your engine's health. Fresh oil should darken slightly, maintaining a consistent thickness without any gritty particles. Solid particles in the oil can indicate serious internal wear, which could lead to significant engine damage. At GMP Automotive Inc., our oil analysis helps in detecting and addressing such issues early.
Engine Coolant Check
Engine coolant is critical in maintaining your engine within safe operating temperatures. Overheating can lead to serious issues like radiator damage from overpressurized coolant. Using the correct coolant prevents these risks, safeguarding your engine's performance.
Ignition Wires & Cables
Healthy ignition wires and cables are essential for transmitting electrical sparks to your engine's spark plugs. Symptoms of failing wires include misfires, poor fuel efficiency, and engine vibrations. If you experience these, our mechanics at GMP Automotive Inc. can replace faulty wires and restore engine function efficiently.
Spark Plugs
Spark plugs are key in delivering the necessary spark for combustion. Worn spark plugs can cause starting troubles and poor engine performance. Our team can check and replace your spark plugs to maintain optimal engine efficiency.
Cylinder Head Repair
The cylinder head is crucial in sealing the engine and managing airflow. Proper function prevents compression issues and driving difficulties. Our experts offer thorough inspections and repairs to ensure your engine's top performance.
Engine Replacement
Even reliable engines can fail. If you face engine troubles, don't delay in getting a professional replacement. At GMP Automotive Inc., we provide dependable engine replacement services to revive your vehicle's performance.
Engine Repair FAQs
Is It Okay to Drive With the Engine Light On?
The short answer, "No." The longer explanation is the light may indicate a serious engine failure and continuing to use your car as if nothing is wrong could result in a very expensive engine repair bill. The check engine light means you should stop driving and have your car looked at as soon as possible by a professional at GMP Automotive Inc. in Apex.
What Could Cause a Check Engine Light to Come On?
Come by GMP Automotive Inc. and we can diagnose the reasons for a check engine light turning on. It can range from something serious like a faulty catalytic converter or potential engine failure to something simple like a loose gas cap or the need for a simple 50K or 100K mile manufacturer maintenance check.
How Long Should an Engine Repair Take?
The time it takes to rebuild an engine varies greatly, ranging from a few days for simple jobs to several weeks for intricate work. Regardless of the timeframe, a thorough understanding of the engine's components and strict adherence to the manufacturer's guidelines are essential for a successful and long-lasting rebuild.
What Does an Intermittent Flashing Check Engine Light Mean?
Flashing check engine lights warn of severe situations requiring immediate attention. Get your vehicle to an auto repair shop as quickly as possible or get it safely parked and call a tow truck to take it to your preferred auto repair shop.

What Our Customers Are Saying
This garage is great! I snapped a hard brake line trying to get it off of my car, so needed to have a new one made. GMP took my old one, duplicated it, had it back to me the next day. With only a few tweaks it fit like a glove. Will be going here for work in the future!
Huge shoutout to Travis who answered my call, arranged an appointment for my Corvette C8 rear brake pads change, and accommodated my time changes for 3 times. I had to reschedule because I was swamped for the last week. He sent me an estimate and it looked good and reasonable. Dropped it off today after lunch and it was done by the end of the day. Highly recommend, would definitely come back.

Awesome service and highly skilled technicians! My 18 year old Ford diesel was experiencing issues and I sought out GMP to help me diagnose the power loss. Online forums had more than 12 things that could have been the cause, which worried me about a possible rabbit hole this could be on such an old truck. Dave B at GMP listened carefully to the concern, came up with a plan and dug in the resolve it. A little scary for me, because the entire cab of the truck had to come off to access the turbo, where the problem resided - but Dave set me at ease and showed professionalism and calm. Ultimately the work Dave did resolved the issue and hope to get another 5 or more years out of the truck! Dave also recommended a few other items, while the cab was off, that made great sense to get done at the same time. Thank you Dave and the entire GMP Automotive group for such great work! You have earned a long term customer that will be reaching out for my general and difficult maintenance in the future!
