Cylinder Block
A cylinder block is the powerhouse for the motor vehicle. The solid cast car part houses the cylinders and their components (gaskets, valves, and seals) inside a lubricated and cooled crankcase. Since it is one of the most important parts of your car, the block is designed to be extremely strong and sturdy. Although strong and sturdy, the block is susceptible to failure resulting in a vehicle that won't start. Cracked blocks, porous blocks, core plug, or freeze plug failure are some of the problems facing cylinder blocks. Call 919-805-9455 to talk to the mechanics of GMP Automotive Inc. about your cylinder block problems.
Cylinder Head
A cylinder head is the closed end of a cylinder (located in a car's engine block). It sits above the cylinder block, closing the top of the cylinder and forming the combustion chamber. The cylinder head coordinates airflow in and out of the engine. Since the cylinder head's chief function is to seal the cylinders properly, insufficient compression results in the car being difficult to drive. To have your cylinder head checked and repaired, talk to GMP Automotive Inc.'s cylinder head repair and reconditioning specialists today.
Diesel
Although diesel engines don't require tune-ups and tend to last longer than gasoline engines, they do require regular maintenance. Typical maintenance tasks include:
- Changing the oil & filter
- Changing the air filter
- Changing the fuel filter
- Bleeding the fuel system
- Draining the water separators
- Refilling the urea injection system
You can count on the experts at GMP Automotive Inc. to help your diesel engine last a long time.
Engine Maintenance
Any car part manufacturer will tell you that preventive maintenance is critical to the part's lifespan. Like other auto parts, car engines aren't built to last forever. However, you can increase the engine's lifespan by performing regular preventive maintenance. The easiest way to maintain peak performance and fuel economy is to provide regular engine maintenance for your vehicle. To have your engine maintained by experts, visit GMP Automotive Inc..

Engine Repair and Rebuild

This involves replacing or resurfacing all the rundown parts in an engine. Regardless of your engine replacement needs, GMP Automotive Inc. has experienced engine rebuilders ready to assist you.
Engine Replacement
The engine converts energy into useful mechanical motion. This amazing machine is what keeps your vehicle moving. Although generally reliable, a car engine is susceptible to damage and breakdown. When this happens, do not sit and stress over it. Take action. Take the vehicle to a mechanic for an engine replacement. Bring it to GMP Automotive Inc.. Visit us at 2511 Schieffelin Road for quality engine replacement services.
Timing Belt
A timing belt is a part of your car's internal combustion engine. The belt synchronizes the camshaft and the crankshaft rotation so that the engine valves open and close at the correct timings. Also, the belt prevents the piston from striking the valves in an interference engine. A timing belt is a rubber belt that usually features teeth on the inside surface, while a timing chain is a metal roller chain. Most cars we drive now have timing belts instead of timing chains and gears. Although different manufacturers have their recommended mileage, you need to have your car's timing belt checked regularly. To have it checked by experts, contact GMP Automotive Inc. today.
Transmission Flush
Although most manufacturers recommend a transmission flush every 30,000 miles or every two years, some symptoms may indicate that you need a transmission flush sooner. Some of the symptoms that indicate that your car needs a transmission flush sooner are: transmission grinding or strange noises, problems shifting gears, slipping gears, surging of the car, and delay in vehicle movement. Flushing the used fluid from the transmission washes away tiny particles of dirt, clutch material, and metal shavings. For all your transmission flush needs, call 919-805-9455 or visit GMP Automotive Inc. today - we are transmission experts.

Transmission Repair
Our services include transmission repair on both manual and automatic transmissions.
The first step in getting you back on the road is assessing your transmission to accurately determine the source of the problem. In some cases, we are able to repair your transmission simply with adjustments, replacing external seals, or replacing accessible parts. To have this done by specialists, call 919-805-9455 to talk to the mechanics of GMP Automotive Inc. today.
Transmission Repair and Rebuild
When it comes to automatic transmission repair, there are several options: buying a new one, buying a remanufactured one or having yours rebuilt. Each of the above options has its own share of advantages and disadvantages. Of the three options, rebuilt transmissions are the most economical. A rebuilt transmission involves removing the transmission from the car, disassembling it, replacing worn out parts, reassembling it, and then reinstalling it. To have this done by specialists, call 919-805-9455 to talk to the mechanics of GMP Automotive Inc. today.
Transmission Replacement
In motor vehicles, the transmission usually refers to the gear box, which uses gears and gear trains to transmit speed and torque from a rotating power source to another device. You can have your car's transmission replaced with a new, rebuilt, remanufactured, repaired or used transmission. For more information contact GMP Automotive Inc. in Apex, NC. This was my first time at GMP. I stopped by Firestone to see my "star" mechanic Carlos, and after hearing the ticking sound on the right side of my engine he recommended I bring it to GMP. They did a great job checking out my engine, and appears to be mainly an oil issue (my Nissan Xterra is getting "up there" ; 261K miles!). Travis was a great help, especially squeezing me in since I did not make an appointment. Highly recommend this place!

GMP did a great job going over my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, checking on a slight gas pedal vibration problem that another shop completely misdiagnosed. No problem, has been running better since changing back to OEM plugs and with recent oil change. Hoping they can keep it running for many more years. Update 9/16/24 - If I could give GMP 10 stars I would. They have kept my 15 yo car running like a top (after another shop told me the car engine was done 1.5 yrs ago, which was completely wrong- just needed spark plugs and bolt tightening). This weekend my left tail light went out. Driving in pouring rain without it today, they replaced the light for FREE for me today. This shop is utterly amazing. True definition of a great small business. (I am a senior, super grateful for these guys.)

What Our Customers Are Saying
This garage is great! I snapped a hard brake line trying to get it off of my car, so needed to have a new one made. GMP took my old one, duplicated it, had it back to me the next day. With only a few tweaks it fit like a glove. Will be going here for work in the future!
Huge shoutout to Travis who answered my call, arranged an appointment for my Corvette C8 rear brake pads change, and accommodated my time changes for 3 times. I had to reschedule because I was swamped for the last week. He sent me an estimate and it looked good and reasonable. Dropped it off today after lunch and it was done by the end of the day. Highly recommend, would definitely come back.

Awesome service and highly skilled technicians! My 18 year old Ford diesel was experiencing issues and I sought out GMP to help me diagnose the power loss. Online forums had more than 12 things that could have been the cause, which worried me about a possible rabbit hole this could be on such an old truck. Dave B at GMP listened carefully to the concern, came up with a plan and dug in the resolve it. A little scary for me, because the entire cab of the truck had to come off to access the turbo, where the problem resided - but Dave set me at ease and showed professionalism and calm. Ultimately the work Dave did resolved the issue and hope to get another 5 or more years out of the truck! Dave also recommended a few other items, while the cab was off, that made great sense to get done at the same time. Thank you Dave and the entire GMP Automotive group for such great work! You have earned a long term customer that will be reaching out for my general and difficult maintenance in the future!
